John McVerry<\/strong><\/h2>\n

After 20 years as a regional curator and then Project Director at Tyntesfield for the National Trust, John established Heritage & Community<\/em> in 2006.<\/p>\n

As well as Audience Development and Interpretation planning for museums, he has focused on preparing business and development plans for historic buildings needing significant capital investment. His particular interest is in finding realistic and feasible futures for churches and is expert in working up sustainable solutions which meet community needs whilst honouring the historic environment; working through ideas, finance, governance and planning\/faculty.<\/p>\n

John is a trustee of the Bridgwater Arts Centre and various community groups.<\/p>\n

Ruth Gofton<\/strong><\/h2>\n

With an MA in Medieval History, specialising in church architecture, and a background in education and heritage interpretation, Ruth worked in management positions in the National Trust for over 13 years and has an excellent understanding of operational issues facing historic sites, joining Heritage and Community in 2010. Latterly she worked at Tyntesfield creating a conservation and access vision behind the successful Heritage Lottery Fund application.<\/p>\n

She is involved as a Trustee for two HLF projects: the Bishop\u2019s Palace in Wells, and the Art Deco Curzon Cinema in Clevedon, as well as actively involved in her local Transition group.<\/p>\n
